The history of art is not merely an academic discipline, but an ongoing investigation. Luca Fiorentino’s path began with his degree in Turin in 2004 and developed further in Siena, where he completed his Specialisation and PhD while working closely with the vast archive of the Giuliano Briganti Library and Photographic Archive. These formative years shaped his eye within the discipline of attribution. In 2009, he chose the path of independence: a scholar able to move between libraries and private collections, collaborating with leading institutions such as the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi, the Dutch University Institute for Art History, and Castello Sforzesco. Specialising in paintings and drawings from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century, Luca has transformed research into a profession that supports collectors and museums. In 2017 he founded the editorial series Avere Disegno (EDIFIR), and since 2022 he has served as a Vetting Expert for the prestigious Biennale Internazionale dell’Antiquariato di Firenze. Today, his work stands at the intersection between the rigour of academic research and the dynamism of private collecting.
